Default Making your own header tank

Just blown my second tank on my my93 wrx, not from too much hard driving or anything.
Rather than fork out another £40 on a second hand one or £120 from forge motorsport i could get my own made at work by one of metalwork contractors.

What would be the best material to make it out of?. I am assuming aluminium and obvioulsy it would have to hold a certain capacity of water and have all the connections in the same place as the current one.

Anyone done anything like this before?.

At least it can be a unique item

It either that or i start trawling ebay.

Thanks Dave

Default header tank

hey mate im a metal fabricator. yeah just use some ns3 aluminium about 16g. (1.6mm). as long as it holds the same amount of water and yeah u just need to weld on some connectors in the same area, all pretty simple stuff for a fabricator. if needs be tell me what u need and i can get a price for doin one if u like. good luck, any other questions just pm me.
