There are a few low mileage examples about if you look hard enough type UK's (only ever 16) are at least 30K and but to be honest probably closer to 35K. Didnt a dealer sell a Type UK for 40K a few weeks back with lowe mileage. If he is importing from Japan then it wont be a type UK but he may be able to get a Japanese 22b for 27K but it will be secondhand and have miles on it. The imports I have seen tend to be around 30-35K depending on mileage, owners and how hopeful the importer is .
I have heard of a few changing hands for less than 30K though, nice motor if he gets his hands on one and I may be tempted myself for 27K .
cheers

The 22B is the ultimate Scoob, but for £27k you would be much safer buying a new P1 or STI7. All 22B's are 3 years old now and it is very hard to trace the history of Jap imports.
If I had the spare cash I'd go for a low mileage P1. Almost as fast and good lokking as the 22B but with warrenty backup and known history.
Alternatively save yourself ~£12k and buy an STI4/5/6 Type R.

er the 22B is a class apart... (may look roughly the same) but its as close to a rally car as you'll get. Completly different from the sti's. Its drivetrain is completly different giving a torque split of 40 / 60 making it feel more like a rear wheel drive car. (I may be wrong but I think the diff is some wizzy job)
I'd get one if I could afford it

This stunning machine is based on the 1997 World Rally Championship-winning car. Only 399 were built for sale to the domestic market (another 25 were made for overseas markets) and they pre-sold almost instantly in early 1998, although many of those sales were to importers hoping to sell the car immediately. In Japan the car was sold for a retail price of about £28,000, but by the time they appeared in the UK as grey imports, many were sold for over £40k!! There are three cars known to have been issued with the 000 number, belonging to Dave Richards of Prodrive, Colin McRae and Nicky Grist. Colin and Nicky both purchased their cars directly form Subaru for an undisclosed sum.
Features include
2.2 litre engine restricted to 280 PS (276 bhp) for the Japanese domestic market.
seam-welded body shell (supposedly identical in shape to the WRC)
Driver-adjustable front/rear diff
Twin-plate racing clutch
Quick steering rack (13:1 ratio)
Adjustable rear wing
revised suspension and bigger brakes over the STi 4
7.5 x 17" BBS alloy wheels with 235/40 ZR17 tyres
Blue alacantra seats and interior trim
Nardi (non-airbag) steering wheel
Uniquely numbered identity plate (1 to 400, with No 13 not being issued)
