chinking pads

Having just got my car and being a bit non technical I would say that my front drivers side pads are "chinking" in the caliper, is this a common fault or is a quick visit to KWIK-FIT required.

Sounds like the "anti-rattle" clips are missing.If you can do a brake job,it wouldn't hurt to pull a complete service on them.But it sounds like you only need the clips to stop the rattle so that would be up to you.They still have to come apart to put in.

Thanks for the info.My mechanical skills are a bit ropey so i think i'll take it back to the garage and let them get their hands dirty
