Minor servicing help needed - Reading area
#1
I've just found out why my STi has been using a lot of oil recently: the oil filter has 2 hairline cracks in it - it has been overtightened at the last service in July, but the oil loss has only started in the last week.
I'm reluctant to take it back to the servicing garage in SW London as its 40 miles away, even though its 99% their fault. Can anybody recommend a good servicing agent in or near Reading?
Lastly, what actually gets done at an interim service apart from an oil and filter change? If that's it I might as well go and buy oil and a filter and take to my local garage round the corner.

I get mine serviced at a local guy that looks after a few scoobs
he is very good and im fussy when it comes to people looking at my car and i dont trust many people, anyway i was feed up with paying Main dealer prices so i had a word with him and he said no probs at all so far he has done a full service and a minor one plus a water pump and cam belt pullies and idlers under warranty
This guy works for himself and is allways stacked up with work and has a very good reputation in the area.
if you need any more details email me

For Reading area servicing I'd have to recommend subaru4you.co.uk - I have used them & am going to again.
Should be able to do evenings for you as well - much more convenient for a quick job!
No affiliation blah blah

My fathers garage is quite able to carry out this sort of work.
They are based in Beech Hill, just south of Reading. They look after quite a few race cars so know how to keep things screwed together.
Give them a call on 0118 988 4774.
cheers,
Dave
