Next Saturday I am to become the owner of an MY97 Wagon Turbo, and I need some advice. Having test driven the car and being relatively impressed!!!!!! I would like to know what to look for that may go wrong. This is my first performance car previous motors being Nissan Bluebird 1600, 309 1300, and a modified Mark2 Golf 1600. I am a rally codriver so I know about quick cars but is there anything different to know about scoobies? It has 40,000 miles on an R with a service 2 days ago, I think it had the cambelts done then but I need to clarify that. The rest of the service history is complete and up to date. Please help I'm getting nervous about this step!!!
Also what are the best 205/50/16 tyres for A roads, country lanes and a bit of Mway driving? A 22B owning friend of mine recommends Bridgestone S-02s

Keep the car serviced on time by a reputable dealer / importer.
Keep the revs below 4000 until tempreture is up to scratch.
Dont just turn the engine off when youve been coasting along at 90mph, let the engine idle for a few minute. This includes filling up with petrol when on the motorway etc.
As for Tyres, yes, Bridgestone S02s are great, but a month or so ago they were like rocking horse poo, so I went for Toyo Proxys which seem to be great but 25% less cost.
