Question about loss of boost
Hi,
I have a new MY06 STI and am currently running it in, I have done around 750 miles in it so far. I have been driving it below 4000 rpm as it states in the manual, I have been over this mark a couple of times but never above 5.5k. During the first 300 miles, when it hit full boost the front of the car reared up and it torque-steered all over the place, the power surge was incredible.
Now in the last 2-300 miles it seems to have lost some boost as the power surge is definatley less (a lot less). I know this is not down to me getting used to the power there is definatley a change. Could it be the advanced multiplier thingy, do these cars learn your driving style and adjust to suit as I have been driving it like a granny for the most part. I have used the same fuel from day one (V power) so I cannot see it being a timing retard thing.
Any thoughts from the experts?
Chris.

You need to spend some more time at higher load/boost and higher revs to allow the ecu to fine tune the base maps.
Is that correct? only what I've read on here
