Photo of Numberplate
#1
I was out in my car yesterday early evening and pulled up outside the tyre shop to get a few prices.
When I came back to my car there were 4-5 young lads standing on the other side of the road looking at it. One of them ran up to the back of my car and took a photo of the numberplate.
I just got in and drove off, without thnking much about it. But now it is starting to worry me a bit!
Does anyone know what information they can get about the car by having details of the numberplate? I guess there may be nothing to worry about, but then why take a photo of the numberplate and not the whole car? Am I just being paranoid!

Hi Si,
I would'nt worry about it at all. They could have just written your plate no. down as you drove past. Probably just wee **** head kids who'd just nicked a camera or something, or were trying to pretend they had been out driving your car (or something eqully stupid )
I once had an incident where my plates were stolen....which was a bit more serious, as it usually means there's crime involved, so I called out the police.
Don't worry

How young were the lads, is it possible they were just taking an admiring pic of the rear of your car/huge zorst???

I would say they were in their late teens. The more I think about it maybe they were just taking a photo of the back of the car.
P1 with a P1 plate, I guess you don't see one of them every day, well I do !
Unfortunatley, the exhaust is not a big as I would like!!! Warranty issues etc. I can barely afford the car, let alone the repairs if something goes wrong and I am not covered!
Thanks for your replies everyone.

Police in the Trafford Centre, a large shopping centre near Manchester, were recently called to investigate a suspicious character lurking around. He had a hold-all and was shuffling around close to unsuspecting women. You've guessed it, in the hold-all was an upwards pointing digital video camera. It wasn't number plates he was snapping.
