Just thought Id post my comments about Protech in Bristol. I needed my MY93 WRX de-restricting and converting into miles and thought Id give them a go.
You remove your speedo cable and odometer from the car and send it to them.
By return they send them back having fitted a converter into the speedo cable and rolling back the clocks to read in miles. This is all backed up by a certificate to prove the mileage, and better still is by return post.

Only downside, youre without a speedo for a day or two and you get a check engine light (error 33) if you try and drive it, car wont rev past 3500rpm, but no big deal for 2 days.

Total cost: £119
Not bad eh considering the cost of some of these converters by themselves. The one they use looks very heavy duty, held onto the cable by large union fittings.

All in all I couldnt fault them, excellent customer service, try em, you wont be disapointed:

One thing to bear in mind also though it....

Driving without the dashboard fitted WILL flatten your battery!

Don't go too far.

They are very good, converted my WRX and the EVO. Very helpful but pricey!

They must have revised their prices cos I was particularly impressed with how reasonable they were, I found them to be the cheapest in the countryat the time (for the whole service).
