Hi folks, i have oil leaking from the black rectangular oil breather gasket on top of both cam covers,and is burning off on exhausts (a bit smelly).Are these items dealer only or does anyone know a supplier that will post as my nearest dealer is 20+ miles away and cant be a***d going there just for gaskets.95 WRX JDM.cheers .

 

sounds like the rocker cover gaskets are gone.

from memory, £150 should see them supplied and fitted at a specialist i think

 

It's your rocker cover breather outlet gaskets that you're describing, so presumably that's what it is. Dealer only as far as I know. They're not that common a part to go, so aftermarket Subaru tuners are unlikely to stock them.

Do you have a link for AS? and yes it is indeed rocker cover breather seal,seems to be from where the bolts go through so i will replace with a new seal and a bit of Wurth gasket sealer and that should hopefully be that.

How bizzare!! Thats just whats happened to mine today, I had smoke from the turbo side and started to flap, I took it to Steve at Northants Subaru (Top man) strieght away and he said it was the same thing , the rubber gasket round the plastic rectangular housing for the breather on the cam cover.

Mines booked in for next Tueday. By the way mines an 02 WRX.
