Question

Yesterday I received my bonnet scoop from Stuart Knight and so I just need to get it sprayed. I tried K.T. Green a while back in Leeds and they said they only do touch up sticks (cost me £8.74!). My car is a MY00 (Euro import) in Sonic Blue, paint code 74F). Can anyone suggest a spray paint which is equivalent. I have tried the Taimya R/C Subaru spray paint but that is not a good enough match.

Also when I took the blanking plate off I could see half the K&N cone and half of the MAF unit. So I am thinking that I should try and get hold of a sheet of rubber for example to channel the air over to the cone. I would also like to be able to shape this so that any water will run off and drip down the side of the K&N cone. Have you any suggestions for such material?

Damian.

Try chipsaway? Scott Eustace sorted out some scrapes on my bumper, and I suspect he could spray the thing up for you?

If you go to a *decent* motor factors that supply refinishing stuff to the motor trade (look in your YP) they will have an aerosol mixing service and can make you up base coat aerosols in the exact colour from the paint code.

I had some 500ml Blue Black mica and Red mica ones made up at around £8 each.

If the scoop is plastic (ABS or similar as opposed to GRP) you will also need specific plastic etching primer rather than normal stuff, and whatever it is made of you will also need lacquer to finish.

Damian,

We can get all manner of small parts painted, at our local dealers for good prices, bonnet vents, fog lamp covers, sills, the orange bits from the bumpers, etc. All usually a tenner or so, a bit more for the sills obviously

Give me a call or send me an E-mail.
