Importing : The (E)SVA inspection or not.
Hi folks.. I understand that cars over 10 years old only need an MOT when imported, as regards to being inspected prior to registration.
What happens if you now import a car, say built, and first reg in Japan, in Dec 1996.
It used to have to be sva'd, what happens if you now import a like model ?

In a few days the simple SVA will become redundant for most imported Japanese vehicles. If you buy a car today and you can get it here in December Id be interested to meet your shipping agent.....

After its turned 10 years since first use itll only need an MOT and the certificate of de-registration (along with a translation) to register.
