Who is going to put their Scooby away for the winter
Just wonderded how many of you park it up for the ice and snow, and use a runaround.
I have a Fiesta sitting on my drive, and am considering getting it back on the road though the winter.
Any good places to get a decent cover anyone?

Not a chance. Every car I've had it goes out in all weathers. If I still had the Elise it'd be out too this winter.

With the right wheels and tyres it would be an excellent car for snow and ice.
However on wide, low profile, summer tyres (i.e. Goodyear F1s, Toyo Proxes, etc.) it won't handle well as the tyres will not bite into the snow easily.

Just to go against the grain here, yes mine is in for the winter and has been since October. It isnt bubble wrapped or anything though.
The reason for this is that I want to keep it for a very long time. If I put it out in all weathers up here (Aberdeen) it'd rust away in no time with all the bloody salt If they didn't salt the roads, I'd probably use it in winter.
It isnt taxed as I have a ****ty old Mondeo for the winter. Additional running costs - £250 insurance, £200 repairs avg a year. Worth it I think.
I haven't washed the Mondeo yet this winter, so it also saves me freezing my *** off every few days!

Thats what i did for years.
I had a scoobs for when I felt like it and kept them imaculate.
And I would always have a shed of a micra of a fiesta kicking about
For when I didn´t want to put petrol in the scoob
For if I was going to park in a bad area
For if I had just spent hours cleaning the scoob and it rained and there was **** all over the roads.
I did use my scoobs in winter and they did get dirty.
But it is really usefull to have a cheap runabout sat in the backgound knee deep in take away food wrapers when you own a car that is expensive to run.

one of the main reasons for me buying a scoob was because you can drive it relativly fast still in wintry conditions, unlike most other performance cars, certainly not putting mine in the shed over the winter!
While we are on the subject of winter, any recomendations for using full lock on the dccd as opposed to the 'auto' setting in icy conditions? Im not sure myself as this will be my first winter with a scoob, does it make a big difference.

Well mine is off to bed for winter, I had a meeting Leeds this morning so took the scoob out for the last time till some time next year. 3 hour round trip and a tank of fuel for a 30 minute meeting, the wife thought I was mad but that's my last drive till April time.
Also means I can get some jobs done on it whilst it's off the road.
I have bought myself a real beast for winter....in a nice shade of faded purple. No power steering and handles V bad but it's cheap to run.
Bought some 15 inch alloys the improve road holding and I may even polish it. I was spending 100 quid a week on fuel, filled this up 2 weeks ago and it's still half full

You still leaving these parts Wurzel or are you staying.
I´m still after a left hooker scoob at somepoint. But the timing is bad at the mo and need to wait for about a year.
It´s been a bit warm compared to last winter!
Definately hit the minuses today though and had a faint hint of snow a day ago.Just got the winter tyres on ready for a Barvarian winter if we ever get it!
