Anyone got any opinions on if the new STi is worth having and selling the P1, personally due to the difference in speed and acceleration i think i will stick to the P1.
But i would like to find peoples opinion on each of the cars.

Your comparing a 31k car to a 26k car
If they release a PPP for the UK STI, I would have one over a P1 anyday. You have a great chassis, good brakes, 6 speed box and 280odd bhp. Dont think you will really notice the difference in a straight line, but you will corner quicker, be in a car that looks better, gets you there in more comfort and has the same heritage as the car that has just powered Burns to the tittle.
My old UK300 (god bless the person that buys it) and my old P1 were a very close call. If it had had the 6 speed box and another 30 bhp it would give it the ingredient the UK300 was missing.

"In a car that looks better"? I have yet to drive in a PROPER sti new shape, ie.jap spec engine, so i cant comment on the performance differences between the two. But i have got eyes and in MY opinion the P1 looks miles better than bug eye even with the headlamp conversion which makes it look even worse.

Having driven both, back to back, I'll stick to the P1 for the moment. The STi VII was very good, but not as much fun. A bit too refined for my taste.
Anyway, with the torque of an impreza, who really needs a 6 speed box?

It depends on the ratios.
There is no way I would want a six speed box with the same top gear.
As it is I seem to be reaching for the gear stick all the time.
Best for me is stick it in fourth and ride the torque. good from 10 to 110mph.
I suppose I could put the lame uk 22b gearing in but nah, as I said it is so lame.
