I watched the most of the vid, flicked back here to post ' but the white scoob wasn't holding up the golf'...flicked back to vid to see it vanish in a cloud of burnt rubber

So I'll stick to my original thought...

Looked like the scoob pulled over on each straight but the golf didn't have the power to pass.

Liking the way the Caterfield absolutely pi$$ed all over both of you like you weren't even there

The golf didn't have the power to 'pass', but the Subaru driver should have lifted off and let the car that was lapping faster through. There is no justification for holding up a faster lapping car......

Instead he overcooked it trying to keep ahead and got a session red flagged.

first rule of trackdays. If a car is behind you in the corners he IS faster than you. A quick lift on the straight, he gets past, you continue on your way, everyone is happy ( & you might even learn a thing of 2 by following him )

Of course, been there myself, at bedford in my old s2000, absolutely pi$$sing on this tuned leon cupra thingy round the corners (kept having to lift off, check my watch, make polite conversation with passenger etc. ) and the straights I was a little quicker but not enough to pass, brake and settle for next corner. All that was required was a slight lift. In the end I passed him, a few laps later I was behind him again so just turned into pits as I couldn't be arsed with taking it slow in the twisties.

Its fair to criticise his behaviour, irrespective of driving talent. He was a tool.

I don't care that his lines suck, he should have moved over. His failure to do that means he'll be picking stones out of his car for a while yet

As people already said, if it was it first track day, he 'should' have been moving out of the way for faster driver's!
All of that is explained in the briefing.

LOL very funny video - love the look on the drivers face as he shakes his head once the scoob has gone off.

No need to hold up a car that is obviously quicker through the corners - just pull over and let him pass.

Here is me at Donny - luckily no Golfs in sight

It might have been his first trackday, but there's no excuse for those lines. Surely he's done some karting, fast road driving or played GT. Frustrating as hell!

I bow down before all you incarnations of senna, berating the white subaru driver....

his so called 'crap lines' looked like attempts to let the stig in the golf past...clearly seen at 15 secs, and less noticiably at 53 secs where he sits on the outside of the bend...also at 1:07.

no disputing the fact though, that at 1:18 he made a complete ***** of it

Sounds as if you've fallen prey to one of his ilk too!

1.27 is not bad for a big, heavy road car on I assume on regular street tyres

Golf was a bit quicker in the corners - not massively - Chaterham past both with easy.

Scoob driver was probably just trying to make the Golf work for the overtake a bit - was a short video, hardly holding up the Golf for an extended period and moving off line to allow an overtake anyway.

As for going off - big deal - it's a track day and pushing much harder than would on the road. Golf driver shakes his head - bully for him if he has never been off!!

Lol - I think it is more a case of disbelief that stopped the guy pulling over, until he ran out of luck that is

He held him up for nearly a whole lap....not just a few corners.

He should not be making anyone "work" for an overtake. He got caught, he needs to lift, let the faster car through and hold up the next guy

Trackday: absolutely no overtaking on corners, it isnt a race. If you do then your day is over. As others have stated he will have been told how to conduct himself in the briefing.
