....but what about the legendary 4WD system we hear so much about? The grip in the twisties?

If it can't even out grip a rusty 14 year old golf....................Suprised me to say the least.

You have to remember that not everyone is a driving god like you. I'm sure if you were in it you'd be on the Westfields ****!!!

There was a fast Mk II golf @ Oulton Park the same time as I was - think you were there too, maybe you saw it? When I came out after lunch, he was behind me. I pi$$ed him under acceleration but he would catch up a bit on the corners. He never got close enough for me to need to pull over to let him past but it took about 3 laps before I got into my stride and left him properly behind.

Plus, all the fwd Clios that were racing around - amazing grip.

At Oulton there were actual Clio Cup race cars driving - and they are quick!

0-100 in about 10.5 secs!

Guess that explains why they were hard to catch in the morning and impossible in the afternoon!

OMG!! a less powerful car in the hands of a clearly superior track driver beating a more powerful scooby. Surely not!

Tell ya what, lets put the more skilled driver in the scooby and see what happens??

Do these threads tell us anything that we don't already know. Or are they, as I suspect, just a way of trolling for people naive enough to think that their marque of car is the fastest regardless of the skill and experience of the fleshy bit behind the wheel actually controlling it??

Gutman pug (Gary) did have a Scooby mate, he's also a good track driver from what I've seen.

Consequently, I think he knows full well that knowledge of a track and experience is the most imp factor in getting a good lap time.

He does enjoy baiting Scooby onwers though, eh Gary!

Davy boy is married to the ring as far as I know!

Never trust a man who drives a French car!!!

To be fair, I don't mind this kind of baiting. What I find laughable is when the trolls will delight in a smaller lighter car being a thorn in the side of a Scooby/evo "it's cause of the power to weight ratio and chuck-ability" they scream and then point blank REFUSE to accept when a Scooby/Evo takes on exotica scalp for EXACTLY the same reasons.

That is funny!

As much as i think it is silly/sad wasting there time baiting Impreza owners i have a lot of respect for their driving skills.

TBH i have never seen either of them driving....but i hear they are rather good!!!!

I think you should look back over my posts on this thread before you make a general comment about me. I haven't said anything bad about Impreza's AGAIN

Maybe we should only post video's of Subaru's overtaking stuff and being brilliant.

It was supposed to be more of a was it you thread, just that everyone jumped on the band wagon........

Now back to that sequential boxed Clio cup racer

I find it funny when certain owners will brag they can outdrag a Porsches, BMWs etc, but refuse to conceed that a FWD car can actually have the upper hand - even in the twisties Subaru, in overated handling/performance shocker. I would never have thought it Well, ok I knew it all along

TBH i am hoping that once i have done it it'll be the start of a few more track days for me. Live fairly close to Brands, and have access to 2 flatbed Transits if it all goes wrong, so no real excuse not to really.
