Question My standard STi exhaust ...

I'm looking to switch to a Milltek system as part of a performance upgrade. How much should I expect to get for current one if I managed to sell it?

Car is a MY05 JDM Spec C.

The current STi exhaust is standard ie it's an OE part from STi, surely it must be worth more than 50 notes!! Anyone else got an opinion apart from Juggers

Got one sitting in my shed. Anyone local (E. Yorks) to me can have it for nothing as the postage would cost more than its worth. Sorry.

Same here.

The economics simply follow the law of supply and demand: nobody wants a standard exhaust so they don't sell for much. People buy another exhaust to uprate their car, but an STI exhaust isn't any real improvement on a WRX one, so nobody is interested. If the STI had (say) a 3" sports cat system as standard then the market rate would be much higher. But it doesn't...

M

(BTW, anyone want an MY02 STI exhaust? )

Slightly, but only very slightly. Most people are after a fair bit louder (or a LOT louder) so again, it just isn't worth it. And if it's noise you're after you only need to change the backbox.

Default Very Funny !

02 Sti full system sat in garage.... Not worth a thing, could try giving it away.

I hoped someone needed one for MOT, but we all know how that one works

P.S. Wheels are worth a bit, but nowhere near what they cost, £400+ Vat(?)

Standard exhausts are frequently left at the dealers after a PPP has been fitted. Users who keep them usually sell them on for £10 upwards.

ok, it's probably worth less if it's a twin scroll i think i'm right in saying the downpipe won't fit normal uk type turbo? (probably wrong there TBH) so you've cut your market down to maybe 20ish% of scooby owners?

don't think the rest of the system is worth much either. sorry.

this is all different if it's a prodrive PPP system or genome stuff

Simon.

It's coming off a car with only 7k miles so should be good? Once it's off I'll take a few pics & PM them to you.

Cosmetically it is a huge improvement on the peashooters on the WRX, when i changed mine there was NO noticable improvement/increase in noise levels.

I wouldnt mind a spare one, would be usefull to bring noise levels down if i went on the track again

Keep it until you sell your scooby and put it back on.Then sell the upgrade for big bucks otherwise you will end up leaving it on your car for free with no standard exhaust to fit
