Default re charging cooling system

i burst top rad hose on my 02 sti type uk and replaced it with samco hose earliar tonight, after changing it i am wondering what is the right way to re charge cooling system as when i started her up after 10-15 minutes temp went sky high, i am aware this could poss mean that thermostat is fcuked.

can any1 shed any light on this for me?

sounds like an airlock, drain it again and refill slowly, squeezing top and bottom hoses, start the car with heater on hot setting., squeeze top and bottom hoses, that should do it..
