bent my car
yesterday i got out of my car in the drive way and it rolled backwards down the drive with the drivers door open. the hedge got caught on the door and wrenched it back. i managed to grab hold of the door and stop it being ripped off. now when i shut my door its fooked
if i am sitting in the car i have to open the window before i can shut the door, but f i am locking the car up i have to leave it as it is in the pic
not sure if i have actually bent the door or something else. if the door is bent is it possible to straighten it?

Brackets, usually. Or where the bracket bolts to the bulkhead may need a few whacks to flatten it again. Could also be just the check-strap thats foobared.
BTW, Sara....you feejit!

With any luck, all you have done is bent the window guide a bit...
Had a window that looked simlar to that when some b*$%£rd broke into a convertable I used to own...
if so, I'm sure it will be a fairly easy fix mine was.
Ady.

You could twist the top of the door back in if your feelin strong?
You have to open the door and put a block of wood at the bottom of the door (wrap it in a tea towel so it don't scratch anythin), make sure the window is down and press hard at the top left of the door to tweek it back in?

Open the door put the window down, put your knee on the interior door panel grip the top of the door frame and give it a sharp tug, the frame should move in, close the door if it doesnt sit flush do it again, the same precedure is used when fitting a new door dont worry if you hear a crack thats normal.

the top of the window doesnt have a frame jimbo, or do you mean the top of the door where the window comes out?^
the window function seem ok.
when i slam the door the glass sits on the outside of the rubber thing that sits at the top of the window. even when i have the door and window shut i can see the sky through a gap at the side

you've seen lock, stock haven't you? apply the vinnie jones technique, that should knock it back into shape
could have been alot worse, could have been a wall than there'd be no door at all to worry about!
hope it's a cheapish fix

if i hadnt managed to stop the car i would have lost the door as the hedge is conifers and the door was wedged behind a tree trunk, i dread to think what i will do next
good job i did it before the respray
