Default evo mag looking for RB5

Hi,

We're looking for a nice, standard RB5 with the PPP to feature in the next issue of evo. There would be some road driving involved but no performance testing or track work. We would insure the car. We'll also pay for fuel, food and accommodation, and you'd get a nice set of prints of the car after the feature's been published. The story is happening next Monday and Tuesday (Dec 11 and 12) on Exmoor.

If you've ever fancied seeing your pride and joy immortalised in print, please drop me a line at petert@evo.co.uk

Many thanks,

Peter Tomalin

Have you tried the RB5 Owners Club Peter ?

RB5 Owners Club Website

I'm sure a lot of the members are on here but you may get a quicker response.

Goodness me, it's Peter Tomalin! As an unashamed sycophant, might I say that I have issue 1-99 and everyone's been a cracker.

Here's some tidy examples....

Best wishes and keep up the good work,

Indeed Peter Tomalin no less whom I remember from the heady days of Performance Car. If you read this Peter two questions was the run up the strip in the Westfield Seight as nerve racking as you described? What was Jeremy Clarkson like in them days?

P.s Is the love for the Mk2 Jag still there?

Damn, wish I'd kept my RB5 now! Was standard and PPP'd! Oh how I miss it! []

Not quite got all issues of Evo, but I do have 1 and 99 and most in between! []

Keep up the good work back at Evo towers - just one request though... please stop pretending that the Porsche 911/997 is a NEW car!

Have every issue of EVO. Best motoring magazine there is.

Subscriber now. Thankfully, I got in before they started printing the Subscriber only covers.

Every month I look forward to the new edition in my mail box.

Keep up the good work.

I think so too, a back to back test, hence the need for a PPP version.

I would e-mail them on the off chance that they haven't found one. A quick look at the pic shows that yours is pretty nice.

The magazine could easily get you the ppp ECU from grade A. Im sure there budget could stretch for it if they really wanted a standard ppp RB5

I've got a bog standard RB5 with PPP and cosmetically in good nick... Also the webmaster of the RB5 owners club...

But I can't drive to Exmoor and miss two work days... I've got a RB320 to pay for in March.

Maybe arrange a weekend and you can have #255 in the magazine.

Sorry to be picky, but they are not "bog standard" fog light covers and you've de-tango'ed the bits under the indicators!

Bog standard should look like this...

Standard fogs were off for that Worcesterball Run 2006 meeting being refurbed. They are now sitting in the garage awaiting a 5 minute swap over should be needed. However, in the winter it's easier to keep STi cover clean, as round pegs in square holes are a nightmare to get your Microfibre cloth in.
The black "wedges" were a massive mistake! Regretted it from the first second I put them on the car. Orange replacements were ordered, but again, sitting in the garage ready for the swap.

As everyone in the RB5oc will confirm my RB5 is as standard as can be.

The mid centre was a essential replacement after the original Subaru branded resonator rusted up and died. I don't class this as a mod, just a cost effective replacement.

The knocklink is currently monitoring any detonation in my wardrobe. So far no damage has occurred to my clothes.
