Do insurance companies pay out on acts of god?
Nik.

haha I like it -

However, I do remember that even though I was fully comp, I wasn't covered for vandalism for some reason and that was with Norwich Union.

fwiw, same thing happened to my mate a few years ago. Insurance company paid out no problems.

tbh, can't remember whether or not it was the house or car insurance though.....

Either way you should get it sorted....

Best of luck

Dan

He doesn't like barbecues either! He lifted up our quite heavy gas one (with a bottle on it too) and smashed it on the decking
(Less dramatised version: Blew it over and a piece cracked)

Looking on the bright side, at least it wasnt some jealous scally who may come back and do it again!
Hey, you could always try to convince Subaru that it just buckled as you were cornering and get it done under warranty!!

I tell you what, these trucks on the motorway are terrible. Always throwing up large rocks from the hard shoulder. One struck me right on the roof as I joined the motorway.

I doubt insurance companies would reject a claim for an "act of god". Imagine if you took them to court, you'd have a field day getting them to prove god exists

Itll be covered on the property's buildings insurance. You can hardly call masonry being blown free in a strong wind force majeure, can you?

A Comprehensive motor policy covers accidental damage. There are "Exclusions" such as wear & tear and mechanical breakdown. "Storm" is not excluded, so you could claim off your Motor policy for the car itself.

Similarly, you can claim for the damage to your house under your buildings cover, under the storm peril.

Hope this helps.

Saterday night was a bid windy, found all my gutters and barge boards on the floor along with half a dozen slates (alot smaller than they were on the roof)

Hope you get a result on this one, most insurance companies are akward when it comes to a claim, just keep on their backs they should pay out for this.

We had massive hail stones earlier this year, my car is a bit pockmarked as a result. I didn't claim as want to maintain NCB, but insurance company would have honoured the claim had I put it in.
