HI soon to be scooby owner here
HI in about a week or so i will be purchasing a 2002 impreza rs or a wrx. My issue is that i cant decide which one to get. The RS will be cheaper on insurance (im 17) and gas but the wrx has more power and more parts out for it plus da ones im looking at da wrx is 2 grand more and 8000 more miles on it. Which is a better choice for a kid lol open to all opinions thanks

Is that location: Maryland, USA? If so, you probably want to ask the above question here: Welcome to NASIOC.com - North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club - News
We don't have the rs here in little ol blighty, or gas for that matter
In my opinion though, get the cheaper car first, learn to drive it quickly and safely, then go for an sti when you're older and insurance isn't such an issue. You'll then have the skill and safety awareness to drive the sti much quicker
Good luck

Hello Holywar - take no notice of CW42 - he's too sensible for his own good. get the fastest car you can possibly afford, and dont worry about it. remember the throttle goes both ways!!!!
And as for gas - ha ha were paying nearly 8 bucks a gallon over here so count yourself lucky.

17 is way to young to have a wrx. Far too much pier pressure at that age to drive at silly speeds. I'm sure it would be very tempting if your parents are offering to buy the wrx, but more 17 year old's crash 1.0L cars than anyone else. God knows what happens when they get hold of a 225bhp 4wd sports saloon.
