Annoyed!
GF jus came back from work to tell me my car hasn't got any fog light covers on it! Went to JJB gym in North Shields before, only place it could have happened!
I'm totally pi$$ed off as they were brand new and only 3 weeks old, just painted them as well!

B@stards did the same to me earlier in the year, lol the wife came in and said they'd nicked the lights, so I was mildly relieved when it was only the fog covers..!
If it's newage, take some consolation from the fact their only £38 each, painted and stickerd from main dealer.. A lot of people pay silly money for them from 3rd party suppliers in the belief they cost a lot more than they actually do..!

It's a classic!
They were both original Subaru items (apparently £140 each), they were brand new only just painted, so gutted. I wish I had caught them at it!
I've had a thought of getting new ones and grinding off any spare metal off the bolts so a screwdriver or pliers wouldn't grip. Anybody else done this?

Alcazar - Thanks, I've thought about using rivits. They'll have to drill them out then!
Just got to school (primary teacher!) and one of the staff noticed them gone yesterday morning, means they were pinched Monday through the day! I've got 3 names of teenagers that hang around the site and are known thieves. There is a lot of building work (new houses) going on over the road from my school so they are always about looking for their next steal!
Going to let the police know their names!
PS - Just told the kids in assembly there is a reward for their return! That should open up a few more avenues!!!!!!

My MAF sensor was held on with a bolt like that with a pin in the middle, slight tap with a flat head screwdriver snapped the pin off and was able to use a normal Hex/torx key to undo it.

There's always a way to beat any security, if you really want to, though, isn't there?
The best you can do is try and deter thieves, pin hex bolts are the next stage, I suppose, how many of the thieves carry a small enough screwdriver to do what you said, or could even SEE why their Allen key wouldn't fit, assuming they HAVE Allen keys?
My Hella 1000FF driving lights have now had one bolt each replaced by a special security bolt with THREE pronged Posidrive-type slots. I had them given, along with a bit to remove them. You can't use owt else to get them off, I've tried on a spare

I totally gutted as I can't really afford to start replacing things on my car in the run up to Christmas! I've also got myself booked in at Well Lane Turbo on the 23rd December to see if it's running OK! Don't really want to cancel so going to just wait until after christmas to get it sorted!
I've been looking at the covers where by the drivers side has an induction hole in it. Going to link up some induction tubing to the IK. Should look good!

Do those bolts fit your foglight covers though, I mean the ones you get with your covers are pretty long, they're like 10cm long or something and the longest pin hex screw is 4cm. Is 4cm enough to go through the cover and into the little hole in the bumper?

I've just receieved some new ones in the post along with some bolts and correct stickers.
The bolts only need to be around 1-2cm long as all they need to do is go through the cover into the bracket. So a 4cm long bolt would be fine. The bolts I received were allen key type. I'm going to put cheese heads on with a phillips head. Then drill the phillips head out so no screwdriver can get any purchase. Shouldn't happen again, if I'm lucky of course!!!!!
