Buying a used car with Tracker and activating it (advice)
The car I'm getting has a Tracker fitted, which thankfully is a pre-requisite of my insurers.
I'm picking my car up on Saturday and have the following questions:
1) How do I go about starting my subscription and when does the first payment need to be made? I'm looking to pay monthly.
2) I assume my subscription needs to have started by the day I pick the car up?
3) What proof do I need to give the insurers that it is fitted & active?
Cheers and sorry for all the n00b threads...

The tracking company will be able to help you with everything you need.. I phoned around all the companys before i purchased my tracker.. they were all very helpful and most will tell you if the car is fitted or ever has, had a tracker fitted by them..! All the info you need, will only be accepted by your insurance company, if its supplied by the relevant tracking company.. eg fitting cert, etc
hope this helps and enjoy your scooby

IF THE TRACKER IS MORE THAN A COUPLE OF YEARS OLD ITS NOT WORTH BOTHERING WITH IT WOULD BE BE BETTER TO BET A NEW ONE FITTED THE OLDER ONES HAD BAD BATTERYS ON THEM AND IF IT GETS STOLEN THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE IT WILL NOT WORK

Hopefully you'll find the registration document for the Tracker with the car's history which have owner transfer details. Ideally a copy of this should be sent to the insurance company as proof of fitment. Tracker can be a bit of a nightmare to deal with, telephone not answered etc.. ended up writing to get my subscription started on a new fitment which took a month to fully resolve. Enjoy your new car.

Im selling a car at the moment with a tracker and the subscription has run out. I would have renewed it apart from the fact that i know its still working and my insurance company would not give me a discount for it!
I've always found the tracker company really helpfull and easy to get through too. Maybe its just the company i deal with but i would have thought they would all be happy to answer the phone and take your cash!!
