Hmm
The fact that racing on the public highway can now land you a spell in gaol, especially if it all goes wrong, tends to put me off a bit.
A bit of spirited driving in suitable conditions, e.g. quiet national speed limit road and no pedestrians, and not racing someone is ok though
Save it for the track or dragstrip

If its meant to highlight the recent arrival of users racing threads its valid if a little late.
Have I ever raced on the road, never, honest officer.
You will need to wait for my deathbed confession to find out the truth.

What some people call a race, others call having fun.
I have fun with other car user's. ie, not overtaking, just 2 cars on a good road driving at high speed (where safe to do so).
Good example. A couple weeks ago I was driving home on a back road, when I came up behind a BMW 330i. The guy looked in his rear view mirror, then proceeded to speed up
. I followed of course (fun starts). I kept off his rear bumper, leaving room to brake, see the road etc. 2 cars having fun. Never once did I think of it as a race. A race is where someone wins. At the end, when we drove in Darlington, we both slowed down to 30mph. When he turned off, I flashed my lights, and he waved back.
That's what driving all about. Mundane driving from A to B is Boring.
The only racing I've ever done, is the traffic light Drag race. And that's very rare. Never done it for years.

So no, it is not a good idea to do 'traffic light' grand prix starts. Why? Because pedestirans are very near by.

I've never found myself in the situation where I have felt I 'won' or 'lost' when driving.
"Racing" implies that you are only concentrating on one thing - to win - not looking for other road users / hazards etc.
Spirited driving/having fun in the right conditions, occasionally yes. Racing to win or loose, no.

I thought it was - And if you don't own an impreza it can be...
As for the insult - I asked as I couldn't understand the response.
Derogatory insults seem to be the norm these days, most unwarranted if you read posts properly....
