Default New Age WRX 280bhp Vs 350z

Hi Guys,
just want your thoughts, ive just had my wrx tuned at TSL having the 333 pack applied to my WRX. The results= Amazing!!!! Much recomended to anyone thinking about a Tune-up.
But in the pub my mates think ill still get beaten up by a 350z. Surley not i say as i have 280bhp which is about the same as an Sti but less weight so must be faster that an sti which in turn is faster than a 350z.
Any thoughts?
the reason i want to know is because the Mrs is getting a 350z and there is no way in hell shes having a faster car than me!!( Childish i Know!!)

My neighbour has a Z, Mine's a more or less standard WRX.

I've driven both on track & road conditions..... even in standard guise, the Scoob has the edge on a Z.

Got to say the Z provides loads of RWD understeery fun though & I'd love one if I didn't need the back seats!

I think you need to learn the difference between understeer and oversteer my friend...

And imho the Z would be a far more entertaining car to drive, Maybe not the fastest but alot more fun.

Apologies, of course I meant OVERSTEER (was sat pm + had a couple of beers). I agree that the Z is an awesome car, I'd love one. Just a shame you can't fit the anklebiters in the boot

Dependign on what version the Z is. The GT Z is close to 300HP a friend of mien has one TBh mine was fater to 90 BUT the thign is he drives lieke miss daisy and once at 90 thats it he wont go any faster, i assume his top end will be better due to having the 3.5litre engine.

Had a blast with a a GT Z in my 300bhp STi v4 a while back, had him nailed in first and second gears no problem but he didn't lose any more ground after that. I did have the wife in the car though so wasn't pushing too hard

Transmission losses affect Scoobs, but the 200kg weight difference and 4wd would be too much for the Z to cope with. As a rough guide, "Evo" chucked both an STi and a 350Z round their track : 350Z ; 1.32 STi ; 1.26.

Both awesome cars though !
