Fed Up Waiting To Speak To A Human On The Phone?
How many times have you rang the Bank, Train Timetable, Electric Company and, you get>>>>>??
For complaints press 1, for whatever press 2 etc etc.
An American chap has come up with a great FREE Service.
gethuman - advocacy for high quality customer service for consumers
Go onto the UK page and scroll down the list of Companies he has cracked.
If the Company who you are miffed with is NOT there, just E Mail him with the Company
Name & Phone number.
He will work out which buttons to press to bypass the system EG; hash twice etc to get you talking to a human rather than listen to the Robot.
Hope this is of use to SN Members.

The easiest way around the IVR system is to press no buttons - then most of them will put you through to a human after about 30s.
They have to do this for old biddies who do not have DTMF phones

Hello Rannoch, tried the silent touch no buttons thing myself, some are like you say, others cut me of!
With the press buttons system, you can do it immediately and get throough every time much quicker.
Regards.

If you stay silent and don't respond to the system it indefinately keeps repeating itself.

Only thing is when you do get through to a living breathing human, they are in India, and with a strong Derbishire accent like my own neither one of us can understand each other!!

This site also covers stuff still over here such as train timetables etc.
I think this Overseas thing will turn full circle and come back here.
Several Firms have started BT for example.
It's still very clever how you can over ride the Robotic cycle, Press 1 for whatever etc etct etc!

You wanna try this site:
SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers
A lot of the time, the alternative number is not only cheaper but doesn't have automated services at all....... I stress, A LOT OF THE TIME but not always.
