Default Boring question from newbie!

Hi all, 've had my first scooby for abouy 2 months now, a 1994 2000 turbo awd wagon.Which i am told is a uk car. What fun to drive ! While driving gently the other day it just cut out and wouldn,t start. After ten mins it kind of started but as soon as i tryed to rev it it cut out while making a light ticking sound. The car is now in a local garage, first they thought it may be a problem with the immobliser but after investergation that appears not to be the case. Now they are thinking fuel pump? Where is the best place to get one? I notice you all use codes prefixed with MY to describe your cars, what might mine be? See i realy am new and undereducated . Any help appreciated.

Fuel pump connector under the rear seat is known to be suspect and can cause the odd intermittant connection (and its a hell of alot cheaper than forking out for a new pump too )

Have you checked there is fuel in the tank?? Don't hate me for asking, but you would be amazed at the no. of breakdowns I have been to where that is the case.
