High miles
Hi my mates after an impreza after having a go of mine hes seen a very nice std car (W Reg SUBARU Impreza UK Turbo 2000) quote from dealer "When you say a car has been meticulously maintained this is one of those examples Serviced every 7.5k by subaru.Uk supplied 15 stamps in service book.Reduced for quick sale Viewing essential first to see will buy" BUT its done 110k and had no engine work done to it, will it be close to needing a re-build even if well looked after?

shouldn't think so, mine was upto 150k without anything needing doing, friend has nearly 200k on his and it's still going strong

There's just no way of knowing. I bought my 98 STi with 112000 miles and a full (every 7.5k) service history. It required a rebuild after 200 miles of owning it. However I factored this in when I bought her and now I have a fantastic car with an as good as new engine!

I bought my first scooby (my96) at 120k mildly modded to 250 bhp sold it at 145k last i heard still going strong!!! This had every main dealer stamp as well!! If the condition of the car is good and the price reflects the mileage go for it!!
Currently got a myoo with 90k no probs!!!
Cheers davy b

if a cars previos owners have just beasted it everywhere never warming it up / cooling it down and gererally ragged the **** of it then sold it id say it wouldnt matter if it had full ssh and 20k on the clock its going to be a time bomb but if a car has been treeted with a little respect ie driven in a safe and sensible manner then chances are it will give you years of trouble free use the problem is you dont know if your prospectiv purchase had attila the hun or captain sensible as its first or last owner same as buying anything secondhand its a lottery but id say if its managed to get to 100k and it still lookes and runs good then chances are its a goodun (take a mechanic tho just to listen to it)

I've had my WRX for nearly 7 years and completed over 110,000 miles in it. Only time it has been to a Subaru garage is for cam belt changes. I've just had the original clutch changed for a new one, and apart from a few age-related niggles (split rad hose, dead fuel pump requiring AA assistance) it has been very reliable. Bits will inevitably wear-out in time, but this is more likely to be reflected in how the car has been driven than stamps in a book. My aged car's engine still spins to 7,000rpm, but is always warmed up / cooled down and driven with a bit of mechanical sympathy.
Currently on 165,000 miles and counting.....

Have a look at post #106. No problems since whatsoever.
Although 60k of its 95k miles had been done in the cars first two years on the motorway.
