Default Bugeye WRX Bhp

Just wondering what power they are and the performance differences between one and a uk turbo 2000.

Only asking because ive just took my Turbo 2000 for an MOT (which it passed) and on the way there i went up and down the local bypasses a few time to get the Cats hot and i got a guy in a silver Bugeye right on my bumper, as i came of a roundabout in 3rd i just put my foot to the floor expecting the bugeye to fly past (he was in 2nd i know cos he kept dumping all way round the round about) but he got along side and really struggled to pass me, he only got by as i had to brake to let him in cos of oncoming traffic. His car had an aftermarket exhaust dont know bout anything else.

just a little supprised was exspecting to get wasted.

P.S if the owner of the bugeye is on here stop tailgating.

It's all in the power to weight ratios!! Bugeye has same bhpp, but significantly heavier. He must have been running more power than std or if anything you'd have pulled away from him slowly.

260bhp for a bugeye PPP surely? 240 was the figure for late classics with PPP AFAIk.

More or less. 265 PS (Pferdstarke) ie about 262bhp with PPP. Easy enough to remap coutesy of Ecutek and change exhaust to have a nippy motor. Weight difference is about two fat people.

The first bugeye PPPs were 245bhp IIRC - running off a piggyback ECU and exhaust. Later PPPs (which could still be fitted to the earlier cars) used an ECUTEK remap and exhaust and were about 20bhp higher.
