Is 8.30pm OK for you ? I will be carrying a copy of All Quiet on the Western Front and wearing a red carnation......well not really, I'll be wearing a copy of All Quiet on the Westerrn Front and carrying a red carnation !!! You can't miss me, number 2 cut and a pint of Boddingtons. Will bring mate along who has a '98 turbo ( he drives like a wuss though and his Missus can hustle her punto along quicker and he will now probably reply to my comment with something sarcastic if he sees it ).
Must go now Futurama is on !!

Slippy,
if you get your PPP fitted in the New Year, you will have the added advantage of two "smile widening" experiences!! First the "over 4000rpm" after the first service, and then the "i've got blue piping under my bonnet" whoosh.
My PPP was fitted at my 1000-miler, so i can't make a direct comparison, but it certainly hottens things up.

Well..well...well..comments like that are like red rag to a bull! Assuming I am the 'mate', it looks like I'm coming to Stone on Tuesday. Michelle, I know you'll be disappointed that I'm married but Slippy's a nice, simple sort of chap and as long as you keep the conversation at an easy level (words containing 7 letters and below)you'll be okay.
P.S. You don't really want to be seen with a man driving a Toyota Corolla with body kit do you???

First things first, the car takes a while to loosen up, and I would recommend hanging on for a bit.
I was always a tad disappointed with the performance of mine till it hit 5k, now it's done 7k and it's really starting to come to life, really enjoying it now.
Having said that, even though it is now starting to come to life and feel like a scoob, of course I want more.
The other week I test drove a PPP'd car with almost identical mileage to mine. My first impression was quite favourable, and I was tempted. The funny thing was I got back in mine afterwards and drove the exact same route afterwards and tried the same sorts of things as I was doing on the test and to be honest although the PPP one was quicker in retrospect it didn't feel like there was 1600 quids worth between the two.
The thing is, I had a PPP on my MY99 scoob, and I can remember the difference being gob-smacking, not the outright power, but the torque was awesome. I just didn't get that feeling with the MY01 PPP. Now the dyno figures I have seen for it suggest that the MY01 PPP is well down on the torque figures claimed for it, and while I know that rolling roads are subject to all sorts of differences etc I don't remember the pre MY01 PPP's suffering to the same extent.
I think this may explain why some people like the MY01 PPP and some don't, there is no doubt that when you nail it it's quicker, but those of us that have driven pre MY01 scoobs with PPP's miss the amazing torque and driveability it gave you - for example I can remember on a track day in my old car being told off by my instructor for not changing into 2nd gear in a corner then being forgiven afterwards because "I didn't realise your car had so much grunt".
I was still tempted, for the warranty reasons, but I have now decided not to go that route...
Anyway moral of the tale, caveat emptor, and don't rely on what people say here, go drive one.
Cheers
Simon

I had the PPP fitted on my UK300 at its 7.5K service and have since done another 3K in it. It made no difference to the fuel consumption on my distance commuting but certainly does with the odd bit of caning (safely of course), but thats expected anyway.
However it has made a difference to the car, sounds better, goes better (mid range much better), and when I get home I'm going to look for my blue Prodrive pipe that I didn't know was there. See even after 3K miles it adds new excitement everyday. Is it worth £1.6K? I have no idea from a parts cost/labour point of view (nor care) but knowing what I do about the way the car drives I'd pay it again. Just my opinion.
