Default Whtas the extent of this fire damage inside car?

IF I was going for a damaged vehicle to save cash, I'd avoid those with fire or water damage because of the greater risk of unseen damage.

Personally, I'd wait till I had a bit more and buy an older classic that was in good condition. Surely you could get a decent one for not much more cash ?

Looks like wiring problems abound with this car - a pal of mine had a car with wiring problems and it seemed a bit of nightmare for him.

How much! A good example of that age should be 5.5k, maybe less, a fire damaged one should be much much less.

I bought one with a knackered engine for 1.5k, W reg MY00

looking at the those shots,it looks like there is two areas of damage, but nothing above!!!.it maybe that they tried to burn it for the insurance, but failed.so there could be no problem in repairing it with no after problems.ok don, hope this helps.remember, when lighting fires, always leave the window open.just a tad!!!!!!!!!

Thumbs down

dont touch it!
fire damage and water are the worst,
bearing in mind, if this got hot enough and the fire brigade were called then u have the two worst evils to ruin a car
fire and water

Exclamation

A word of warning about dealing with any vehicle that has had a fire. Some of the plastics used within vehicles can turn into a very nasty acidic substance, name fails me for now. If this comes into contact with any part of the body surgery / amputation is the current method of pain relief as it cannot be neutralised.

I agree, on a damp or wet day the burnt smell tends to be more noticeable

It's the window seals that melt, so you're only in danger when it's actually on fire.
