Have you tried turning it on then walking round to the back of the car and seeing what's lit up?

Its within the light cluster; the light pattern is different to Japanese cars even thogh theyre physically similar in appearance.

People could help you more if your question was clear; right now its hard to know what you are asking.

Its a uk car 97 turbo 2000. when i turn the fog light switch on theres nothing lighting up on the back. ive looked at the bulbs (all 3 of them) and there all fine. but was thinking if it has a fog light there should be 4 bulbs not 3.

Its difficult to know what the craic is when you cant see the lamps.... If there is no provision for fog lamps then Id suspect that your car has had JDM lamps fitted (after after-market lamps were removed perhaps?). The easiest way to establish whether you have the correct UK lamps; or Japanese specification lamps fitted by someone because he bought them cheap; is to compare the light pattern of yours with some UK lamps that have a working foglight. If your rear-reds are a different size and shape (the visible red illumination; the actual lenses all look the same) then you have JDM lamps, which will explain why you dont have four bulbs.....

IIRC you also have to have your normal lights at least on sidelights for the fogs to work. You did switch all the lights on when testing, yes?
