Wink whats the better track car?

im thinking about buying a track toy/ road legal tho.
i was thinking about buying a 1998 sti3 coupe?

or would i be better off buying and older wrx and just modding it?

i would like ideally 300 ish bhp reliably and dont really know whats involved in getting that from either?

any help would be greatfully appricieated.

chris

Here is an STi V doing the business on track.

Standard suspension except for antilift kit, AP 6 pots and a slightly bigger turbo running around 320/330bhp on track. It still had the top mount interwarmer.

Depends how far you want to go - but this was quite nippy

STi V on track

PS The STi V was extremely reliable - I did 60k miles in it, most of them tuned. The STi IV were prone to piston slap. The prices of Vs and IVs must be pretty close now.
