Gearbox oil leak ??????

Gearbox oil leak ??????
Just had the 1k service done and the dealer commented that there is possibly a gearbox oil leak (traces found) and to bring it back in 2 weeks to check again !!!!!!
Level is at max and they wonder if it was overfilled from new. Anybody had a similar experiences of this ?
Has anybody used the dealer in Kendal (Lake District) ? Because i'm up there soon and it would be convenient.

Overfilled from new? Erm, there is a thing called a PDI, Pre Delivery Inspection. An overfilled transmission should have been rectified, by the supplying dealer.
Some of us with Classics run the transmission oil level a bit above max, deliberately, with no problems though.
Sorry, can't comment on that dealer.
