Selling the Scoob - WTF !!!
Hey Guys,
Has selling an Impreza really become so hard. Been trying to sell my Scoob for a couple weeks, price started at £4000 but soon came down to try and sell it. Currently at £3400 and Its not budging at all. Getting a influx of Irish Dudes offering me £1500 because of the milage, I mean there are higher milage, Imported examples going for a lot more than mine ffs
yer its done 115000 miles but then engine only has 30K on it and the clutch was only replaced late last year along with other stuff. It drives bloody perfectly with no noises etc but I still cant sell it. The only reason I am trying to sell it is to get a Saloon. I originally swaped my £4500 Honda HRV for this thinking I would'nt lose too much but it seems I have fallen flat on my face. As some of you may recall, there were things that needed to be done to the Scoob when I got, Shocks, Powersteering pump to name but a few of the things. These have all been done at a lot of bloody expence but still I cant sell her.
Can someone please explain what the hell is going on cos it beats the ****e out of me
I rather miffed Scooby Seller, Chris

its a buyers market tbh - people offering you 1.5k are just trying there luck - they probably sit on the trader website and ring cars for fun to see how cheap they can get them... majority of those offering you 1.5k will probably buy it and sell at a profit - especially if they are willing to come over from Ireland....!!!
just sit tiggt and enjoy the car - the right buyer will come along...

Unfortunately the market has declined somewhat due to the Chav aspect of the Classics and people do not want to be associated with this.
Go to a garage and see what they will give you part-ex

I was ages selling mine, it had 100,000 miles on the clock, very nice MY96 classic in standard form. Weeks on autotrader, twice in the local press - eventually ebayed it, sold it within about two days !!
Try ebay, if you take time to write a good advert and are completely geniune with your description it'll fly away. Just make sure, like me, you get someone with a firm grasp of the queens english to make the advert sound even better.
