Default Big Thanks to Prosport, i can now sleep at night :)

Been having problems with my classic, and ive only had it a few months, and the after sales help from the garage i got it from stinks warrenty may as well be written on some bog roll for what its worth

Took it to Prosport, and after a dianostic, had the MAF +Knock sensor replaced, but the cars power was still blipping when i floored it
Took it back to them again and got it on the rolling road where the dip in power was very apparent, so i left it with them to further investigate.

Turns out it had way too much oil in, so it was drained, the boost solenoid control valve was cleaned out, the boost pressure was reset, and the spark plugs were replaced (these should of been done on the 60,000 mile service! but had been in there from day 1 ) then it was dyno'd again....

At first the power was 208bhp and 224.9lbft, and now its running 220.1bhp and 253.9lbft, not bad for a standard classic with no mods
Feels like new and drives superb, the smile has definatly come back, and i can sleep at night again not worrying about it

So a massive thank you to Pete and the crew @ Prosport, and the lovely Claire on the reception, who is a star, that can make a dam fine brew
I will only use them in the future, as i just dont trust anyone else and would definatly reccommend them to anyone

Just got to go have it out with the boss of the garage i got it from! he's such a tw*t

Just to throw something into the mix.

Who do people rate as the best around these regions - Prosport or Scoobyclinic?

I've just been down to see Pete at Prosport and found that he really knows his stuff on standard cars, but when it came to highly modded cars only had bad things to say. I may be wrong it was just my first impressions. Any thoughts?

One thing Pete hates is having to spend ages talking to people about there cars when he has lots on, as its a waste of his time, he's a very busy man and always has loads to do
He definatly knows his stuff, but seems to spend alot of time un-doing bad engine mods that people have had done on the cheap or tryed to do themselves, dont think he has anything against heavily modded cars as long as there done correctly

Fair point speedmonkey...only the mods are tastefully and proffesionally done ;-)
I did get the impression that he was rushed for time and didnt really want to talk to me though.
Sometimes its worth giving a little bit of time for free to give the confidence in someone you need to spend the money. I realise he will get time wasters...but it this case it wasnt one!

Pete can be a funny bloke at times - not in the humerous sense but, he always tells me how busy he is and how he needs to spend more time at home then proceed to chat to me for 1/2 hour on a Saturday afternoon when he has shut shop and should be heading home putting his feet up.

Pete is as straight talking as they come and wont tolerate time wasters.
Sometimes when you first meet he can come across as a bit stand offish - trust me he's like that with everyone. once you've met him and he knows you he is totally different.

One thing i know he doesn't like is people poking their beaks under the bonnet when he is working - so go and sit and have a coffee instead.

He was the same with me - I wouldn't have him any other way, he is the most down to earth straight talking honest bloke i have met, look at how spotless the premises are and then check out the prices he quotes. very very reasonabley priced for the knowledge and expertise that he has.

If you want a s**t job take it to a back street garage, if you want a first class job done at a resonable price with no nonsense advice then take it Prosport and it will be cared for like a baby

I cannot recommend them (or Pete) enough

Oh and another thing - dont ever ask him what he thinks of your Lexus Lights conversion???
