That stuff is normally put on in the factory, it stops the alloy corroding...... you can wash it off, but then what will it look like a year later...... it's only sticky when the motor is warm.....

It's a special GEL that improves your power output by 50% Just in the same way that a CockLink does what it claims to do!!

Most people ignore pete these days..... (hi Pete!!)

The wax is just there for protection, mayeb they added it at the service, i didn;t know they could do it, but hey, you learn a little something everyday!!

That stuff is applied at the factory, certainly for cars that are to be exported. It protects the engine against corrosion, I would guess mainly for the rather long sea voyage. I would be very surprised if the dealer applied, or re-applied it at the service.
If you don't remove it, the engine bay will eventually look awful as dust and dirt will stick to it. The more enthusiastic among us will get through quite a bit of white spirit, rag, brushes and some sore fingers in getting rid of it, but it's worth it.

definately from the factory. You've probably never noticed until after service, where you're checking what they've done..

Part of the PDI that they charge you for, includes removing all waxes.
