Default Picking up my first scooby in a couple of hours....

In a couple of hours Im going to pick up my first Scooby, Its:

2006 (56)
WRX
Limited Edition SWRT (same as the UK 300 so im told)
World rally blue.

Ive also ordered an STI spoiler from scoobyworld so im hoping that it will look the part....
Are they good quality??

I think im going to like the scooby but will be sad to wave good buy to my Golf 1.8t.

This looks like a great forum and im sure I will have a bag full of questions for you soon.

Yes the PPP can be added at any time and MPG normally goes up! though a heavier right foot sorts that problem out

Think so and therfore PPP is not an option as you need to get it done in the country of orgin for the warranty to remain AFAIK.

There are no SWRT limited editions on the Subaru Malta web site. It wont be like a UK300 as that is a bugeye model. It might be similar to a WRX300, though you will not have PPP as standard....

.....and that model is over a year old

so what do you have......

FFS not this old chestnut again, talk about SIAL..!

This has been proven to be complete and utter boll@cks, many EU scoob owners (myself included) have had all sorts of work carried out under warranty without problem..! Infact, we seen to have an easier time claiming than most UK owners..

There was an issue last year where IM started playing their face up a bit, but this was resolved when Subaru Japan jumped all over them.. All you need to do is register the car with IM (Subaru UK) (very easy to do, PM me if needed), you'll receive a letter back from them stating that your car is registered on the UK dealer network for cross border warranty work.

Also, PPP is available on EU cars, although I'd personally go ECUTEK and risk warranty..

Oh and one other thing before someone chips in with it, UK owners have always claimed that EU cars will be worth far less come trade in time. HELLO..!, have you seen the prices of s/h UK cars lately..!

One very happy EU scoob owner who paid £4500 less than the 'inferior' UK car. Yes EU cars have seats that hug you, not lard **** benches..!

PS 5 year tranny warranty too..!

PPS insurance is no different on a UK spec EU car..!

Since when has PPP been recognised by a Pan-European warranty?

Jasonius - Agree 99% (so many EU scaremongerers around ) with your post but can you confirm where you found out fitting PPP kept your warranty on EU imports ??

Mine a Cyprus spec WRX and last time I checked I was told PPP had to be fitted in the country of origin/

Completely agree (although i got my insurance somehow cheaper being EU )

Even with EcuTek, warranty claims are not a problem

Still interested about PPP, have never seen anything at all saying that warranty is valid on Euro imports...

OMG......have you actually purchased a year old car from Litchfields, which has been previously unregistered and now sold on a 56 plate?

I cant believe that! They have nothing to hide there, and they wouldnt sell you a car that was a year old without telling you of this fact....

No...I've just re-read the thread you bought it somewhere else....

So what was the point of the reference to Litchfields

If you wanted a genuine WRX300, you could have bought mine........

Where are the pics dude? I am assuming the worst, and I feel for you.....have you contacted Motor Depot yet? With all due respect, maybe you should have done a little research before you parted with your cash?

Firstley im well aware the car is the last shape (2005) and not the current one but its registered on a 56 plate and with only 12 miles on the clock is brand new.

I never set out to buy a wrx300 or any other limited edition I just wanted a new subaru impreza as cheap as possible and the one at car depot fitted my needs, Infact I didnt even know it was a SWRT untill I had bought the car.

As the warrenty only started the day I picked it up I hardly see that its an issue

The quote to litchfields was because it explaned abit about the SWRT model as there had been some comfusion about it at the start of the post.

I payed 14,300 for the car and got the finance at 0%
I also got a very good PX with my golf
So im quite happy.

This is my first post on this forum but already I have found some members to be arrogant and opionated, I only hope this is not the standard with all sabaru owners..........
