Reformed car thieves?

Reformed car thieves?
I know this could be a tricky one but do we have any reformed car thieves on here? (or unreformed but willing to comment).
Like a "beat the burglar" idea does anyone have informed opinions as to what puts car thieves off and why the pick particular cars and not others.
This may be a waste of time but might give some help to avoid your/my pride and joy adding to the list of stolen Scoobs out there?

Don't use a steering wheel bar, it just makes the steering lock easier to break. Disklock is better.
Don't bother with Tracker, they take about 60 seconds to locate and disable.
Don't use the yellow gear stick locks, useless.
Don't leave ANYTHING on display, a brick through the window or a screwdriver in the lock takes 2 seconds.
Blackjax is ok, but no immobiliser stops a flatbed or HIAB lifting your car.
Security lighting is good, make sure its out of reach or a gloved hand may break the bulb, however cctv can't identify masked raiders.
Try to cover your bonnet release cable, its very easy to rip out the grille and release the bonnet from outside the car, make sure your alarm has a bonnet trigger (can be easily disabled with a metal strip though - so fit two)
Alarms are ok for the 7 seconds that they sound before they are ripped out.
Sleep easy, its only a lump of metal, for decent cars nowadays the keys will be pinched from under your pillow defeating most of the above anyway, plus a knife to your throat is always a good way of extracting the security pin for the immobiliser.

Disclock puts ALL thieves off according to my learned friend!! He reckons only totally professional car lifters would try it on i.e. via HIAB etc. To much trouble and time otherwise

Has anyone had a car stolen with a disklock fitted (without keys), I know the keys can be obtained by the most deranged/desperate with violence etc. but I am more worried when at work/out and about than at home and they cant get the keys then.

one security device on its own isn't enough.
The mor eyou have, the more likely they'll opt for another (easier) target.
So: Cat3 disc-lock, AND cat3 wheelclamp AND cat1 alarm AND blackjaxx AND seperate killswitch AND tracker AND de-locking AND anti-shattter window film AND gsm dialer.
Get the idea?...sticking on a krook-lock bar + the stock alarm and thinking that's it is not enough.....As my eejit friend with his p1 found out (I told 1000 times that a "bar" type steering lock and factory alarm is useless).
