Question

I am off to Santa Pod tomorrow and I was interested in what sort of times I could expect?

I have been before in my last few cars, but this will be my first time in the Scoob. It is a uk turbo, standard apart from a TSL group N backbox (thank you trouser I am VERY pleased with it, and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade the sound is amazing!) & an itg filter.

What sort of times have other peolpe got there?

Cheers

Martyn

Depends how agressive you are with the clutch and how many revs you dial in before launch. UK turbo fairly standard probably about early to mid 14's to 16's depending on agrressiveness. Go easy on the clutch as they are expensive and so are diffs and gearboxes. As it likely too be cold this may help but grip maybe reduced, so its swings and roundabouts .

With the right start you can get 13s, tho' 14s would be respectable. Scoobs have excellent traction of the line!

D'OH got there at 10.00am, track was very wet. They spent the next 2 hours trying to dry the track. By 12 it was looking dry(ish). Then came the rain again so no runs for us today.

I have try next year, I think the next RWYB is Jan 27 2002.

4x4's Scoob's only doing 14's.My 3dr cossie is 2wd and i have done 12.982 @ 115mph,with road tyres, when the car was 330bhp@flywheel. 4wd has all the traction,so what would the scoob do if it was 2wd 16,s/17,s please don't take this the wrong way,i am only making a comment!!

Oh yeah - forgot to mention...

In the Scoobs Vs Cossies challenge when I was put up against an escort cossie, I won on both 0-60 & 1/4 mile in the Standard Group - he also had higher power than me

The question was posted for a fairly standard UK model . Whats the 1/4 for a 220 bhp Escort Cossie ????

SK if you talking like for like then an STI with 280PS then you are looking at mids 12's and thats standard tune. A 330 bhp scoob I would expect very low 12's .

So whats the spec of gavin's

The REVS thing has many Impreza owners thinking they got the faster car, which is funny when yer at the lights in a cossie...usually ending in boredom of being so far infront

ending in boredom of being so far infront
or more likely the boredom of waiting for the AA man to come with his tow truck

Dingy - Before you bring it up, yes we all know that Scoobies have choclate No. 3's, but never having read the revs article, what was the ratio of Scooby breakdowns to Ford breakdowns

Scooby_Killer,

a Scoob with a genuine 330bhp at the flywheel will post a better time than 12.9 - we know we have seen it!

Don't forget, a UK car 'only' has about 220bhp, and we have seen those do mid-13s.

Trout

PS These figures are from Santa Pod

Nothing to do with the scooby keeping a nice distance to avoid getting covered in oil !

I played a golf tournament last week. First prize was a 4 week Carribean Cruise. Third prize was a piece of cut glass. I won third, two shots behind the winner. After the competition I went out again and had five birdies. I still didn't get the cruise. Can you tell me why this is the case Craig?

My best time at York drag strip is 14.4 secs with a reaction time of 9 thou of a second so if you take that of my time Im in the thirteen second barrier ( thats the way datron time you) and thats with a totally standard Scoob.
