removing alternator cover help!!
just been fitting a new alternator cover, but unsure about how much of the origional cover should come off on a facelift classic? should this come off all in one piece?
also when removed im left with this
so i tightened up the bolt in the middle which holds alternator to.......?? the bit on the right, where cover was bolted!! then fitted new alloy cover.
please some advice for a novice under the bonnet!!
have i done the right things? or should the origional cover come into 2 parts??
oh also what is the sort of washer thing with the big hole in it on the nut in the middle of the second pic?

The thing with a hole in it is for lifting the engine in and out, (not that I ever use it)
As long as you tightened everything that you undid they you're doing alright.
The cover comes off in one piece as you have done.
