I'm changing mine (MY06 STi) over to my prodrive one in the hope that some of the burble returns, but i'll post up again and let you know if its any good. From what I can gather on here, its a bit hit and miss as not many have tried it on an 06 model.

Will changing the exhaust invalidate the warranty completely or just the warranty on the exhaust ?

If you stick with a prodrive/subaru one then no warranty issues, but as for aftermarket parts, not sure.

The prodrive back box will return some of the burble on the 06 cars! You need to get rid of the resonator section which is just after the cat for full burble!

Got mine from TSL, sounds awesome!

I've now had my prodrive BB on My06 STi, and it is a big improvement although not as burbley as it was on my old scoob. Resinator will be the answer as previously posted, but as I say, it is a big improvement so i'm happy for now

hi mate welcome to Scooby ownership

I have a 06 wrx and I had the Prodrive exhaust for around 2-3 mouths its much better than the standard exhaust but for me new to Scooby ownership and the Scooby sound I found that it was too quiet for me, good when you give it some gas at low speed however I found I was going around in too low a gear so I could have the sound not good for fuel or speed I sold it to a another member (he was very happy with it so far) I went for a vortex afterburner from Scoobyworld I think it has a better sound and better build quality, I don’t think that its over the top sound wise just gives a good sound when you give it the gas I love it.

and my dealer has one on his car and fitted my one so I don’t see any issue with warranty

Thanks for all the help, unfortunately I've just spoken with Subaru UK and they tell me unless I fit a Prodrive system I will invalidate the warranty !!!!! Don't think I want to take the risk.......

As mentioned, just have a friendly word with your local dealer.

And exhaust is down to personal perference, usually noise levels.

http://www.scoobyworld.com

have quite a few exhaust and sound clips too. I can vouch for the Ninja. Very nice lOOking, sounds good with just the BB done. Sounds awesome, probably too loud for some when full decat.

You wont regret the prodrive system, after now driving mine around today and doing about 100 miles, the difference is quite apparent. Definately sounds 100% better.

My BB came from subaru dealer, and it was only the BB. It was £350, but if you look on here or bay, you can ick up a second hand one in good condition for alot less.

Chapter 2

Spoke with the dealer,he doesn't think it's a problem (wouldn't commit in writing) which one I fit but advised me to speak with Subaru warranty guys on Monday.

Starting to think I'm getting worrird about nothing here, but if it came to a claim I wouldn't want to be shafted !!! Am Ilikely to make a claim on the warranty ??? Thought these Scoobies were bulletproof ?

No such thing as bullet proof, best to either bite the bullet and get what system you want or be safe and stay with a warranty exhaust system, at the end of the day its your car and your choice!

have fun either way!

Yes mate its on the 06, iv had it for about 6 months and it was changed at the 1000 mile service. The dealer said it is ok if he fitted it and if there was a related problem they will swap it back over with the origional for warranty work.
