Advice on my first WRX Exhaust
Hi all, picked up my first Scooby today 05 wrx, love it to bits, hope to put some pics up soon.
Got it from main Scooby dealership, after handing over the keys they just happend to mention that they have a STI back box exhaust available virtually new only done 1K miles for £150.00.Currently my scooby has the standard twin exhaust.
Any thoughts whever its a good idea to have this fitted.
Is the price right?
Any performance difference?
Is it classed as a modification with respect to insurance?
Do you get the Scooby burbel???
Any thoughts please let me know.
Thanks

I sold one for £30 as new, you can pick them up cheap as they are basically the same as your pee shooter with a different exit pipe so no sound or performance difference.

TOOOOOOOOOOO Much
Not that you would notice, without the rest of the system (d/pipe and center)
Don't think so, but check
Not really, to get that you need to change the Down pipe as well.

Don't think it will sound that much different.
I bought a Prodrive WR Sport back box for £65 on ebay and fitted it myself (easy).
These are in the options catalogue at £300 at the Subaru dealer but being stainless steel mine was/is in v. good nick.
Approved by manufacturer so doesn't invalidate warranty and Privilege didn't want any extra premium because it increases power by less than 5% (from memory)
Sounds great esp with windows down but not intrusive at all.
Also available second hand are the PPP back boxes which are identical but with a round tail pipe rather than an oval one. Happy shopping- best £65 I've ever spent!

I've just bought an STi and just about to change the back box over to a prodrive one that was off my last scoob. To me the Sti one sounds no different to my old twin peashooter wrx one.

i got 03wrx and went for the centre decat whilst leaving everythign else standard for now. back box just makes the noise and very little/no performance difference.
decat on the other hand have noticed that the car is a little more responsive at low revs

for a Milltek.I have a Prodrive downpipe and H&S centre de-res...not only is my car's exhaust note now at least acceptable, but throttle response has been improved and it definately feels a bit more torquey now
loudest ain't always the best
