Default Would You?

I am looking at setting up a car club scheme which for a fee would give you:
Year 1 Subaru Impreza WRX (06 Model)for 1 month fully insured and serviced
Year 2 Mitsubishi Evo TQ-300 (06 Model) for 1 month fully insured and serviced
Year 3 Nissan 350Z GT Pack (06 Model) for 1 month fully insured and serviced

At the end of the scheme on a first come first served basis would be able to buy 1 of the 3 cars for a flat fee of £5000.

The cost of joining in the scheme would be £4500 (Equates to £48 per day driving the cars) and the cars would be delivered and picked up from you at the beginning and end of the month. If you are fortunate to buy one of the three cars your total cost would be £9500 for a three year old high performance car.

So would you consider joining something like this?

Sounds good to me. If you ever think this through and provide it in Malta, please get back to me.

Personally, no. I wouldn't spend £4,500 to drive a fast car for 3 months over 3 years. Plus most of the people on here already have an Impreza so you would be spending the money for 2 months in an Evo and a 350Z.
If you broke it down so you could hire them on a daily/weekly basis then to me it would make more sense.
Good luck if you decide to do it though.

I'd be worried that at the end of three years i'd end up with a sports car that had had the **** ragged out of it for three years by 36 different people. Cos at the end of the day if you've only got it for a month your prob gonna give it some stick.

So for me, a no i think.

So I hand over £4500 and for that I get a WRX for 1 month. I then wait 12 months and get to drive a Evo for 1 month. Wait another 12 months then get to drive a 350z around for a month.

What do I drive around in for the remaining 33 months?

I also have no guarantee of being able to buy one of the cars, as 12 people may want to buy, but you only have 3 cars to sell.
What do you do with the WRX for the remaining 2 years? Do you store it away? or do you subcribe another 12 drivers for the second year, then another 12 for the 3rd year, meaning at the end of the 3 years, a possible 36 drivers have thrashed the car within an inch of it's life.

I think your plan is at best flawed. No dragon would invest in this, so I wouldn't either.

Plus for £4500 I could subscribe to another car hire/share scheme, and get to drive around in a Porsche/Ferrari/Aston etc.

I'm sure there's a plan in there somewhere, but not your current idea.

As per the points already raised:
3 months driving over 3 years
cars ragged the hell out of them
Some muppet prangs it, then you've money down to possibly buy a damaged car.

Like dragon-stilover, i'm out also.

I think it's utterly ridiculous. Just so you know, I'm out too.

What a brilliant idea who wouldnt love to pay four and a half grand to drive around in three knackers for one month a year and if youre very lucky you get to pay another five grand and keep one of the bollocksd up buckets.

Agree with the points above. Not something I would spend my money on.

At the end of the 3 years the cars would be completely f**ked. No one would bother cleaning them or putting "good quality" fuel in them and they would be completely thrashed.

Worst idea I've ever heard, but I'll give £150,000 for a 20% equity in the company.
