Default scooby boo boo

well it looks like i conformed to the image of every 25 driving a fast car!

absolutly gutted, it was wet and i slipped coming off a roundabout, classic skool girl error, looks like my sence of judjement was left at home!

no one was hurt and car still runs with a big dent in front, looks like radiator is smashed.

not if you (a) have told them, and (b) take it off

Sorry to hear about your bad luck - still, these things happen

Not funny when you've just literally lost 4 grand in one day! She wasn't travelling at speed, the road is only a 50 and she had just left the roundabout.

Where's the £4k lost?
She said it was a dent at the front, and a smashed radiator. The car still runs. Surely it won't cost £4k to repair?

Typical Bloody women, sticking up for each other.

You don't do anything else together do you? Can I watch

well i looked at it and thought it would be ok, the subaru mechanic looked at it and said minimum of 2 1/2 K to get back on road, insurance co may write it off, so all in all not very happy!

I was not going at speed, like soul girl said, is a 50 limit on the road, and could not have been going faster than 30, i blame it on the slippy road,

will just have to keep my fingers crossed for the insurance,

have to say that in the 28 hours that i had my scooby, i did love her!

Sorry to hear your bad news, glad to hear you are alright tho!

Even if the insurance company do write it off - you can always get another scooby!

28 hrs must feel really bad, i had my wrx for about 16 hrs (brand new) before my sister in the back seat opened the door stright into a bicycle (but that was only a couple of hundred quid) , cant imagine how you feel, your boyfriend will now wish you had insured it

in a word YES. when i crashed my scoob i wasnt even bothered i had blood pouring from my head or the fact i had glass all over my body. i stood there looked at the state my car was in and started sobbing (21 year old stocky receeding male - imagine the scene), as i knew i was only tp f&t insured. but it could have been a lot worse for me. i skidded in the wet, with pretty much new tyres, and lost control, and tbh could have easily died.

yes you are lucky, and eventually you might wake up in a cold sweat one morning and realise it. im £4.5k of modded scoob down now, but il pay my way and mod my wrx to the level my sport was. and be fully comp this time.

andy

p.s. good luck with finding a new boyfriend

At the end of the day, you're ok, everyone else is ok, the car can be repaired/replaced. You've clearly tried to learn someting from the experience and not just blamed all and sundry for the accident, so chin up - it could have been a lot worse.

I'm afraid your BF is now entitled to some special treatment though; that's SN law!!!!

Id get a knowledgable second opinion. A "£2,500 repair job" can frequently be completed for a fraction of the price. Let me put this in perspective; Ive had well-crashed Porsche 968s repaired on jig with new (structural; the PU, bar and lamps were used, as was the bonnet) parts and refinished in faultless Glasurit for under £2,500. Try to repair it using used parts and a known-good specialist and dont make an insurance claim. Itll sting but youll both be better off than if you make a claim; get your leg lifted, sell the car and lose your NCB.....

I've said the same thing to her GC8 so I suspect she'll be doing the rounds to local bodyshop repair establishments once the insurance has officially written it off. We've spoke at length about the writing off procedures etc so she's possibly going to be able to have the repairs done and be back on the road asap

7 sets of steelwork railings... ive got about 10 piccies on my pc of different angles. front o/s impact and rear o/f impact, hence the new "hovercraft" look of the rear axle... and yes they are 2 week old unpaid for £1200 18" speedline turinis...

I wondered if it had been railings what with the concertina effect on the panel there... oops about the wheels! Were they covered under the insurance on top of the value of the car?
