ive got a 02 sti with a green filter bailey dv and a turbo down pipe not sure what power ive got at present,my brother has just upped the stakes by buying an evo7 he has fitted a k&n filter and exhaust,and just had a remap.
he now has 340bhp and im sick as a chip need to catch up.
if i buy an exhaust system and get a remap will i be able to catch up in the bragging stakes?

No quite unfortunately - with an exhaust and remap you'll see 310-320bhp. You need to change the turbo...

Also I'd lose the Bailey DV if I were you - it is of no benefit what so ever unless you really must have that phsttt sound.

You should be able to get around 340-350bhp on the turbo you have on, also depends on what exhaust you want, a sports cat will set you back more than a decat pipe, but will the decat pass a roadside emissions test?

you should be able to get 340 you'l need uprated fuel pump 2 and with exhaust either a true 2.5" or 3" all way from turbo as to get best flow and remap. if in future your thinking of changing turbo etc to go for big power i.e going for 400 i'd do 3" exhaust.

yeah from what ive read on here i think getting 340 out of a scoob is going to be tuffer than out of his evo7

Sounds like he may have a decat downpipe already. With uprated fuel pump and remap 340 should be poss on standard turbo. Probably worth losing the dump valve.
