Default Opinions please

Up until a few weeks ago I was the happy owner of an MY98 soprt wagon.
That was until someone decided to turn into me whilst overtaking him - writing off my car.

I've been thinking about getting a 1.8t Leon

But, a local garage has a gorgous W reg Turbo 2000 Wagon for £3999
It's got 120000 on the clock, but has full local dealer history.
I had a quick look around and it looks in very good nick. The interiors mint.
Haven't had a chance to drive it yet.

I was thinking getting something cheaper to run, but this things really got me thinking really seriously about buying it.

Can you turbo guys give me some opinons please!

I had a MY97 impreza turbo wagon, i swapped it for a leon 20vt cupra (not R) which i kept for 3 weeks. I then went out and bought a MY99 uk turbo saloon. The leon will only give you another 15-20 miles off 20 quids worth of fuel and it less fun to drive. Oh yeah, if you get a pre-face lift leon it looks just the same as the ones OAP's drive to the PO to get their pension .

Buy the impreza.

Well after posting the above I went out and tested the scooby......

I've been driving an Impreza for nearly three years, but that Turbo'd one is something else!
It's a awesome piece of kit.
But you lot know that already, right?!?

I'm putting the deposit down in in the morning

Just trying to sort out insurance
Could really do with some recomendations there

28 year old male, 1 o/s claim, 9 years protected no claims, low yearly mileage.

Thanks mate,

I've pm'd him.
I've been to the a-plan website and I'm expecting a call from them in the morning.

I'm a home owner insured with directline on the car and the house. It was by far the cheapest quote i had and they give a 10% discount online.

I tried A-Plan and they were over £300 more expensive than Privilege. The Lad at A-Plan couldnt apologise enough because he couldnt beat my quote. He didnt understand why, as I was about as little risk as it was possible to be. Try Privilege.

In terms of getting a reasonable quote you are probably b*ggered until it's sorted out.

Has the other party admitted any liability? Make's it easier if they have, though the relative damge on both vehicles may also make a difference.

Hope it goes in your favour and you can get the turbo...

Thanks for that, I'm still getting it, but it's just a pain with the insurance.

I've got one quote so far that isn't too outragous (still big though),

I think you're right about the claim though.
As far as I know he hasnt admitted anything, but the bugger turned in on me on a straight road.
