I have heard imprezas will pass an mot with just the center cat fitted, is this definately correct?

Ive said it in the past, but Im not so sure now. If you can get the catalytic converter hot enough it will do; youll need to be right up at the top of the RPM limit too.

had this discussion last week, some 1 brought this document from vosa 2 the forefront, have a look, seems u dont need a cat at all, if its pre 95!

I know what thatll be without looking.... A flow chart from the testers manual? The old chap doing the MOT couldnt work out how to enter an unregistered and unlisted car on the system so it went through as a Turbo 200 AWD. Because the original DP was still in place that wasnt an issue, after a damned long warm up.
