Default type ra vs fq360 topgear??????

After watching the impreza get it's *** whoped by the fq320 in previous top gear road test's i've decided to request a fair comparison.

type ra(360bhp) strait from the production line upgraded ecu software along with an exhaust

Fq 360 again strait from the production line in jp with added ecu software and an exhaust.

Personally i think this would be a fair comparison as my type ra has elect windows and air con.

Would you all e-mail top gear asking for this road test plz

I have just sent the first one

top.gear@bbc.co.uk

Reference: type ra vs fq360

It's a bit pointless really, the FQ360 is availble here to buy direct from Mitsi, the RA is not, it has to be imported. Hardly a fair comparison.

In one of my many cloudy moments outside, i wandered if a super-test could be arranged:

WRX PPP vs STi vs GSR (all in the region of 260)
STi PPP vs FQ300 (all in the region of 300)
TSL333 vs FQ320 vs FQ330 vs WR1
JDMSTi+Remap vs FQ340
SpecC-RA vs FQ360
Type25 vs FQ400

Surely the above could be arranged between here, SIDC & MLR

Bring it on!!

Not a bad idea that we should slap this thread up on the mlr and settle it once and for all.

At home we have my STi TSL re-mapped PPP (so, close to the 333?) and my sons EVO IX FQ 320 on the drive (for drive read 'bit of tarmac in front of the house')
Got to be running similar power but the EVO's lighter and the power comes in earlier. Haven't really compared them yet (we will! ) Got a feeling the EVO will have it!

I would say the general opinion will always remain, evos are quicker but the scoob is a better everyday/allround car to live with!

I dont agree with that i personally think the spec c will have any evo rs/gt
I just had a 380bhp gt and at the time my type ra was in standard form so i did'nt get to play, but my gosh is the spec c fast for a standard car.

People say it, but would be good to see. Even if the EVO won every round, would be great to see/read.

I know what you are saying, but you can't walk into a Subaru Dealer and say I'll have a Spec C RA please, well you can, but they'll tell you to **** off.
You can however walk into a Mitsu dealer and get an FQ360.

Yeah, well we've only got one upgrade package, so to do comparisons with similar bhp, that's the best we could do.

If Subaru/Prodrive did other packages, i'm sure they'd be close to TSL's anyway.

i think my slightly modded type r is quicker than my P1 which was significanlty quicker than my evo7. I would go as far to say that my type r feels as fast as my 8 fq330 but there again its subjective and both my evos did not seem to have that ' in your face sensation' that the scoobys do. Wouldn't think theres much in it, and the type r handling is right up there as well.

You've almost got one category on your drive.

lOOkin forward to some results/comparisons. (Actually i've seen some of your posts on MLR, so believe they will be un-biased.)

I reckon the next platform will offer the uk market with the derived rally versions if subaru uk take notice of all the spec c's about

On the road both the Spec C and Type 25 (new and old) would be as quick if not quicker than a FQ 400, the Scoobs have great low down torque and no lag.

Default spec

Would have to be sold in gb, so best impreza at the mo available here in uk, is the sti ppp version 10, v's evo 9 fq 360, not mitsi's fault the scoobys have nothing to compare to,
Like you say though the spec c if it was officialy sold here would be a different story very nice car, and the only scooby i would consider buying

it's not an official model is it, so doesnt count. If only subaru released a T25 kind of model offically... that'd be awesome

I think subaru need a spec c or t25, to be officially sold here in the uk, 315 bhp max is not good enough in these new age cars

Quick Reply: type ra vs fq360 topgear??????
