what to do?!?!?!
hey ppl
have been driving my classic 97 turbo for a year now and with great encouragement from mates am gonna start tuning her up.
does anyone know a gd place to start, i mean like ob exhaust and induction are main first ones but should i start in the engine bay or should i start with suspension? i know will get round to doing both at some point but which order etc

All prices are rough guides:
Whiteline:
Front anti-roll bar (£80)
Rear anti-roll bar (£80)
Solid Droplinks (£80)
Anti-lift kit (£125)
4 wheel geometry. (£50)
AST Coilover suspension (£1200) OR Springs (£150)
AP 6 Pot Brakes (£1500) OR Fast Road pads (£250), Discs (£200), Hoses (£50)
Stage 1:
High Flow Panel filter (£30)
Decat exhaust (£500)
Remap (£600)
Stage 2:
Headers (either ported & wrapped or GT Spec) (£350)
Walbro 255 Fuel pump (£80)
Injectors (£300)
Turbo (£500)
remap (£200)
That should be enough to get your mind racing, and your wallet emptying

They all make a big difference. Suspension/Brakes/Power.
I did mine in Power/Suspension/Brakes order.
Depends on what type of driver i guess you are, and what you want. You decide that though, don't let others persuade you.
If your budget allows, you could do the power route, but then half measures with springs & fast road pads for the others.

The brakes on a pre'99 car aren't up to much, being two-pot, with fairly small discs.
Whilst I wouldn't completely disagree with any of the other posters, I'd say that if you are contemplating better handling, and/or better power, you're going to be going faster? If so, better brakes are No1!! Four pots and bigger discs at least. I have 4 pot Brembos with 325mm discs on my '98 car, which is well modded.
